Explore Paris by bike

Publish on Wednesday, 5 August 2020 dans Visit Paris

Why not take the opportunity during your stay at the Hotel Albe Saint Michel to explore Paris by bike? A far less congested travel option than the Metro, the capital's cycle paths offer you the opportunity for great discoveries, whether you prefer monuments or green spaces, all at your own pace. Fun, freedom and exercise; what more could you ask?

Where to go by bike in Paris? Take a ride on the banks of the Seine

In summer, the banks of the Seine are perfect for enjoying a breath of fresh air while admiring some of the most beautiful Parisian monuments. By bike, you can start on the Place de l'Alma, near the Eiffel Tower, before heading along the Avenue George V then go by the Arc de Triomphe to reach the Parc Rives de Seine, a riverside promenade reserved exclusively for pedestrians and cyclists. Next stop: the Place de la Concorde.

Go green via the Coulée Verte

How about a green escape from the city? To enjoy verdant surroundings, head in the direction of Versailles. Take the Coulée Verte, an elevated linear park that follows an abandoned railway line, then go by the national forest. You’ll need to allow at least two hours to reach your destination; two hours of effort - and pleasure.

The Left Bank by pedal power

Cycling is also the ideal way to discover the prettiest parks in Paris and its surroundings. Taking the cross-city route from the Bois de Boulogne to the Bois de Vincennes, you’ll be very close to the Art Deco splendour of the Palais de la Porte Dorée. Your journey will then give you the chance to admire the impressive Bibliothèque Nationale François Mitterrand, cross the bustling Latin Quarter, and even discover the Esplanade des Invalides. All from the saddle!
