From July 12th to August 30th you can see the Hôtel des Invalides as you've never seen it before thanks to an incredible night show. For 50 minutes you’ll watch, spellbound, as 3,000 years of history pass before your eyes! You can easily access this beautiful place and its Army Museum from the Hotel Albe Saint Michel.
Once upon a time...
If there’s a show you should not miss in Paris this summer, it’s the one presented as part of the 6th edition of Night at the Invalides, entitled Lutetia; 3000 Years of History.
A veritable marvel of technology, Bruno Seillier's new sound and light show takes you on a journey through time, projected on more than 250m of façades surrounding the Invalides courtyard.
Relive the greatest moments in the capital’s history with images of exceptional quality. The rich and fascinating story is narrated by a soundtrack featuring the voices of notable French actors such as Jean Piat, Céline Duhamel, André Dussolier and Jacques Roehrich.
A thousand candles light your way in the Church of the Dome
The year 2019 marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of Napoleon and, to mark the occasion, Night at the Invalides will continue this magical evening with a ‘walk by the light of a thousand candles’ inside the Church of the Dome.
Napoleon I is interred in a majestic tomb of red quartz, surrounded by the resting places of his son the King of Rome, his brothers Joseph and Jerome Bonaparte and various great generals and marshals.
Nearby is the Army Museum
In the prestigious setting of the Hôtel National des Invalides you can also find the Musée de l'Armée (Army Museum), where over 8,000 m² of exhibition space displays nearly 500,000 objects relating to French military history from antiquity and the medieval period to the end of the Second World War. An exciting museum!
